| sorry i've been off for so long...had to catch up on my back work.
you go off on an extended leave for, like, a couple of months, and stuff piles up on you.
anyway...that "extended leave" started when i got this weird email that said:
"this is Shield. we know who you are. go to the roof of the Daily Bugle at six pm. if you decline, we leak your secret.
don't be late."
now, anybody would have been freaked out by that. i certainly was. but, i figured, what's the worst that can happen? if it was a trap, i'd take the bait and spring it, just to give whoever set it a run for their money.
on the other hand, if it was genuine...they probably needed me for something. and they really could leak my secret.
not at all an attractive option.
so i went.
my spider sense went off at a low buzz when i got to the roof. it felt like there was someone nearby who wasn't necessarily a threat, but was hiding, which was generally suspicious behavior.
then General Nick Fury appeared out of nowhere!
"sorry about the shock, Pete." he said. calmly! like he hadn't just stepped out of thin air!
"what's the deal?! how'd you do that?!! WHAT THE HECK IS THIS ABOUT?!!!!"
"calm down, kid. you want to hear me out, or what?"
"i..."
"and the cloaker is top-secret government property, so don't bother asking for one."
"i....fine. whatever. what's going on that you have to blackmail me to get me up here?!!"
"i want to warn you to keep an eye out, kid. there's someone fairly high up in the world who's going all out to get you in his hands. he's got resources, an obsession, and all the time he needs, until he gets you himself. until you encounter him, and he tries to harm you, we can't interfere at all."
"and why not?!"
"our hands are tied by the law, Pete. it's illegal for government to spy on the homeland. it's illegal for me to know what i just told you. it's illegal for me to tell you any of this. it's illegal for me to even know you exist. therefore, it's illegal for me to interfere in anything of the sort until someone's in danger."
| whooo...i've been a busy superhero...okay...i'm really whipped, so i don't feel like explaining why i've been off for so freakin long just yet...
let's just say it involves mutants, career criminals, annoying govt. agents, and insane business CEO's.
man, i'm bushed...i'll explain later, everybody...just hold on for a couple...days.
your friendly neighborhood spider-man...
| Just experimenting with this Xanga Premium. I've got about 20 days left of it for free, and I figure since I don't have near enough money to pay for anything like that, I should use the freebees as much as possible.
Nothing big at the moment. I'm just really POed at JJ...I just battled Scorpion.
So, whose idea was it to create Scorpion? Good ol' Jameson. Seriously, if he wanted to assasinate me, you'd think he would pick someone better than Mac Gargan, so random hoodlum. Not Gargan's mad because JJ got him stuck in this Scorpion suit. Here are some photos:

Anyway, I started college yesterday. Apparently Flash Thompson got into ESU through a football scholarship (shoot!!). My Genetics Professor, Dr. Conners, is a nice guy, though he has something against Oscorp. He also seems pretty distracted all the time.
I also met that jerk Eddie Brock. Alright, he's not really a jerk, in fact JJ's worse to him than he is to me. I guess we're just plain photographic rivals. If I can get my photos to the Bugle before him, I'm good, but that means there's a little bit of malice against me. Oh well. It's not like he can do a whole lot to hurt me or anything.
| Another entry made after midnight.
Not much happening at the moment. Today (or rather, yesterday, seeing as I'm making an entry after midnight) I didn't fight a real villian, well unless you count "Terrible Tinkerer" as a true super villian (I'd say more of a "Terrible Tinkler" or simply "Terrible Choice of Villiany").
He, and a bunch of men in rubber suits that were posing as aliens attempted to attack me with a plastic ray gun. In the end I took the ray gun and the guys in the rubber suits ran away. Big whoop.
Tomorrow, though, I will be starting at ESU. Genetics 101! Since it's only about 20 minutes away, I don't have to get a dorm, which is good considering Aunt May hasn't been doing so well lately. I just found out the MJ is taking Theater Arts there, too, so that's great.
However, I do fear keeping up this duplicity. Peter/Spider-Man can only exist as long as I allow it, and during college I can't be dashing out any old time. But, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
| So so tired...
I spent pretty much all day fighting this guy called Sandman, who, as you probably guessed, has the ability to morph into sand. That's tough to handle, considering if I punch him my hand either goes right thru or he ups his density and makes it feel like I'm punching titanium, or if I web him he just morphs into particles and seeps away.
Like I said, it took all day. I was eventually able to keep him at bay using an industrial strength vacuum, but it only held him for so long. The key point was when our battle ended up at Oscorp, near an enormous furnace. I was able to lead him inside it. Thus, the heat melded his sand particles together and he turned into glass--which I accidentally shattered. Therefore, I'm not sure if he'll reform again (no doubt he will, it just may not be for a long long time.)
Wow, despite all the action, this day (and this entry) is rather boring. The biggest thing, though, is that I got some great photos of Sandman, but JJ wouldn't except them. Some other jerk, named Eddie or Brock or something, got better ones to him first. I thought I was the Bugle's Free Lance Spidey photographer!XD So SOMEONE can enjoy them, though, here they are (again, why do they looked so posed?)
